A RIB designed around the battery
The Vita Power Seal matters for a structural reason rather than a headline one: it was drawn around its own electric powertrain from 2021 rather than being a combustion hull with the engine swapped out. That shows in the two numbers that decide whether an electric workboat is genuinely usable. Ninety-five kilowatts continuous against 140 kW peak means it can hold output rather than merely produce it in bursts; a DC charge from 10 to 90 per cent in under an hour turns a day boat into a shift boat.
The reference list says the rest. San Diego Yacht Club, the City of Newport Beach and use at the Paris 2024 Games are institutional buyers with procurement rules and maintenance departments, not early adopters chasing novelty.
Who should buy it, and the small print
Clubs, municipalities, race committees and large estates with a charging point and a predictable daily pattern. Specify the dual 126 kWh pack unless the boat truly only does short hops — the single-pack version is effectively a SeaDog with more hull to push. Two caveats: the €157,000 figure is a sterling conversion and, in the source, is shared with the smaller SeaDog, so it cannot be treated as a firm price for this boat. And range at the 30-knot top speed is not published anywhere; the pack size tells you it will be modest, but ask for the number in writing.
