The same hull, three times the price

The Volt X sits on the identical 5.4 m by 2.13 m platform as the Volt 180, with the same 0.3 m draft, yet starts at €100,000 against the 180's €33,275. That gap is the whole story of this model, and it is one we can only partly tell. Vision does not publish battery capacity, motor output, top speed or range for the Volt X. A tripling of price on an unchanged hull almost always means a substantially larger pack and a far more powerful drivetrain — but we have not been able to confirm that, and we will not put a figure to it.

Who should consider it

If the higher specification is what it appears to be, this becomes a small, high-performance electric boat: short waterline, serious power, the sort of thing bought for exhilaration on a lake rather than for cruising range. That is a narrow and expensive brief. At €100,000 a buyer could instead have Vision's own V24 — a 7.52 m twelve-seater with a fully published 43 kWh and 134 kW package and a quoted 40 nm — with change to spare.

Our advice is straightforward: do not order a Volt X until the builder states in writing exactly what the extra €67,000 buys. Undocumented premiums are the hardest thing to resell.
