A commercial tool, not a yacht

The Shuttle 14 should be assessed on an operator's spreadsheet rather than a buyer's wish list. It is the passenger-transport variant of Soel's 14.5 m catamaran platform, aimed at ferry routes, resort transfers and water-taxi work, and priced from €989,000. Private buyers are not the audience; anyone wanting a solar catamaran for their own use should look at the SoelCat 12 or the Senses range instead.

For an operator the electric case is straightforward on paper. Scheduled short-hop routes are the single best duty cycle for battery propulsion — predictable daily energy demand, a fixed charging point at one end, and a diesel bill that disappears. Add near-silent running and no exhaust at the quay, which matters commercially at resorts, in nature reserves and on inland waterways where noise and emissions rules are tightening.

The blocker

Motor output, battery capacity and passenger certification are all absent from our record, and for a commercial purchase those are not optional extras — they are the entire business case. Without pack size and consumption at service speed you cannot calculate turnarounds per day, and without a certified passenger figure you cannot model revenue. Treat the €989,000 as an opening reference and require a full duty-cycle specification and the relevant class certification from Soel before any comparison against a diesel ferry.
