Who it suits

The Spirit 25 is the middle child of Rand's electric line-up and, for most buyers, the most sensible one. It borrows the walkaround access of a centre console but keeps the shelter and styling of a classic runabout, and the deck is built around a three-seat pilot sofa whose flip-over backrest converts the space into six-person dining, with a triple sun lounge aft. That is a day-boat brief executed properly: six people, sun, lunch, a swim, home. Buyers wanting a berth should look at the Leisure 28; buyers wanting a thrill should look at the Source 22.

What the numbers mean

Thirty-three knots from an electric drivetrain in a 25-footer is respectable, and the published €130,900 starting price is at least a real, quotable figure — more than can be said for most of this segment. Set against a comparable petrol runabout it is a clear premium, but it is a smaller premium than the electric versions of prestige brands command.

The significant gap is that neither battery capacity nor range appears in our data for this configuration. On a boat sold on its usable day-cruising brief, that is the number that decides whether it works for you.
