The efficiency case

The Optima E10's numbers are the most striking in this group. Two hundred nautical miles from 120 kWh at 6 knots is roughly 0.6 kWh per nautical mile, and a 15-knot top speed from a single 40 kW motor — around 54 hp — is close to impossible on a conventional hull. That is the stabilised monohull with outrigger side-hulls doing exactly what it was drawn to do: forming drag-reducing tunnels and letting a small motor carry an 11 m boat at speeds that would normally demand three or four times the power. Kreisel packs and Rad Propulsion drive are both credible suppliers.

Two hundred miles is also a genuinely different kind of range. It is enough to plan multi-day coastal cruising around where you want to stop rather than where the charger is, which almost nothing else here can claim.

The price and the practicalities

€467,000 is day-boat money at superyacht-tender level, for one cabin and two berths, and that figure was converted from a £400,000 starting price — re-verify it in the currency you will actually pay. Beam is unpublished, and outriggers imply a wider footprint than 11 m LOA suggests, so confirm it against your berth and any lift or hardstanding you rely on. Novel hull forms also carry unknowable resale risk.
