At €15,000 and 4.5 metres, the Sigma 4.5 is the entry point to Helios Marine's range and one of the more approachable prices in electric boating generally. The natural buyers are rental and excursion operators wanting a low-cost, low-maintenance fleet boat, lakeside households after a quiet runabout, and yacht owners needing a simple tender. A 0.2 m draft makes shallow shorelines and beach landings straightforward, and a boat of this size is easy to trailer, store and insure.
The problem with the listing
The difficulty is that the yard publishes no motor rating, no battery capacity, no speed and no range for this model. On a petrol boat that would be an inconvenience; on an electric boat those figures effectively are the product, because they determine how long you can use it and how long it takes to recharge. As it stands the Sigma 4.5 cannot be compared on performance against anything, and a low price means very little without knowing what pack sits behind it.
Anyone seriously interested should treat the price as an opening question rather than an answer: ask for kWh, kW, cruising endurance at a stated speed, charging time from a domestic socket, and the CE design category. Also establish where the boat is built and who honours the warranty.
