850 Fantom Air (Porsche Edition)

A performance statement, not a cruiser

Four hundred kilowatts against a 100 kWh battery is the whole story for the 850 Fantom Air: at full output that pack is a matter of minutes, and no serious buyer should approach this boat expecting range. It is a limited-edition performance day boat, and it is quite openly sold as one. Notably, the yard does not publish a top speed or a range figure for this edition at all — for a boat whose entire proposition is performance, that absence is itself worth weighing, and any buyer should insist on both numbers in writing before ordering.

Who it makes sense for

Realistically, an owner on an Austrian, Swiss, Bavarian or Italian lake where combustion engines are restricted or banned, with private charging at a boathouse, who wants the Frauscher hull and the Porsche association. On that duty the short endurance barely matters and the badge is much of the point. Nine aboard on 8.67 metres is a generous day-boat layout.

At €562,000 it is priced well above what the size and utility alone justify — you are buying a collaboration and a limited run, which is a legitimate reason but should be a conscious one. Two further cautions: our price figure comes from user-supplied competitive-landscape material and has not been independently verified, and Frauscher's core business remains combustion boats.
