Who it suits

This is the least exotic way to buy a fast electric boat, and that is precisely the point. The hull is a Scout 215 Dorado — a conventional, well-understood fibreglass dual-console bowrider from an established American builder — with Flux Marine's own 100 electric outboard, rated at 150 hp peak, on the transom. The target is a buyer who wants an electric boat that looks, loads, trailers and docks like the petrol bowrider they already know. Nine seats and a Permateak deck confirm it is a family day boat rather than a technology statement.

What the numbers imply

Eighty-four kilowatt hours against 112 kW means sustained full throttle would empty the pack in well under an hour, so the published 26 nm range describes mixed use with a good deal of it below the 27.8-knot top speed. That is a realistic figure honestly stated, but it is short: a foiling rival extracts considerably more distance from a smaller battery, because a planing hull pays an efficiency penalty no drivetrain can recover.

Caveats: no price appears in our records, which for a boat of this type is the single most important missing number. The novel component is the outboard, so a buyer's questions belong with Flux's warranty and service network rather than the hull — and European availability through the Scout dealer chain should not be assumed.
