The Launch 25 GTe is exactly that — a concept, unveiled at Miami in 2023, and three years on there has been no announcement of series production. Treat it as a statement of intent from a heritage combustion builder exploring what an electric Launch might look like, not as a product with a delivery slot. There is no published price, which is itself the clearest signal of where it sits.
What the numbers say about the engineering problem
The specification is instructive precisely because it is uncomfortable. A 133 kWh pack and a 313 kW EVOA sterndrive give a 43-knot top speed, but those two figures cannot coexist for long: at anything near full power the battery empties inside the hour, and the yard's own "roughly two hours at speed" claim clearly refers to a gentler cruise. The weight tells the same story — 3,525 kg against 2,753 kg for the combustion Launch 25, an extra 772 kg carried entirely by the battery bank on a hull never designed for it.
That is the honest state of electrifying a fast planing runabout without redesigning the hull. Anyone who wants the Chris-Craft look today should buy the petrol boat and watch this space. Anyone who wants electric at this size should look at purpose-built hulls instead.
